Abstract:

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) represents a major concern for our healthcare systems, being ranked as the fifth leading cause of death in Australia and significantly affecting the quality of life of patient(1). Both non-pharmacological approaches and pharmacological therapies are important in the management of management of COPD(2). With the recent introduction of additional pharmacotherapies, there is now a wider choice for healthcare professionals to consider, which has its advantages and disadvantages. A greater selection to choose from enables healthcare professionals to select the best possible therapeutic option for individual patients.
